Heather Briston

Biography

Heather Briston, Head of Public Services for UCLA Library Special Collections, has been at UCLA since 2011. She received her M.S. Information with a specialization in Archives and Records Management from the University of Michigan. She also holds a J.D. from Syracuse University. She was the Corrigan Solar University Historian and Archivist at the University of Oregon from 2001-2011. She has worked as an archivist at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Michigan. Her professional research explores legal issues and archives, the use of primary source materials in teaching, as well as collective memory and the role of archives.
