Heather Stewart

Biography

Heather Stewart, Associate Vice President for Technology, is part of the technology leadership team responsible for global and New York-based enterprise IT services and operations. This encompasses support for services and infrastructure across the university in the areas of teaching and learning, research, community life and administration. Her areas of responsibility include community life and student engagement, IT governance, prioritization and communications, and learning management and instructional content management. Prior to joining NYU in 2006, Stewart served as Assistant Vice President for Finance and Technology at Seton Hall University. Earlier, she held positions of Director for Academic Technology, Research Associate for Academic Initiatives, and Director of Academic Resource Centers. Her service and board membership has included the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative, the New Media Consortium, NSF Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering, and the New York State Grid for HPC. She is a founding faculty member and former co-director of the EDUCAUSE Learning Technology Leadership Institute and was a Frye fellow. Stewart holds a B.S. in Biology/Psychology from Albright College, an M.Ed. in Education from University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. in Education from Seton Hall University.
