Holly Whistler
Biography
Dr. Holly Grant Whistler is the online program and course coordinator with the Virginia Community College System, in which she manages faculty groups and liaises with IT to ensure digital tools can serve distance learners. Her other roles include serving on her local library board, serving as a peer reviewer for the AERA and the Journal of Instructional Research, and mentoring future educators as they complete field work and coursework in the areas of English and Education. In previous roles, she has worked in public schools as a special educator and English/Science instructor, managed dual enrollment programming, provided accessibility services for community colleges students, and developed lessons and curriculum for edtech companies. Her inspirations for writing and research are mentoring, technology, and rural communities. Dr. Whistler still enjoys connecting with writers and education enthusiasts - but she can also be found at her local soccer field, coffee shop, or hiking trail.
