Biography

Hopeton Smalling is an award winning educator, currently serving as the functional business analyst for institutional effectiveness and assessment within Syracuse University. His professional career reflects over fifteen years of experience in higher education, optimizing teaching and learning in and out of the classroom. He is exceptionally adept at leveraging educational business intelligence to optimize operational needs. He possesses a demonstrated record of accomplishment in development and implementation of student success initiatives. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in enterprise resource planning and administration from Le Moyne College. Also, he earned his sixth year degree as an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) from Liberty University and is completing a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused on improving the use Big Data in higher education administration.
