Biography

Ian Waters has recently retired from the role of IT Governance Consultant at UTS. Prior to this position, he was managing a unit that had University-wide responsibility for security policy development, consulting on security planning, IT risk assessment, security audits, vulnerability testing, compliance reporting and architecture. Before that, Ian Waters was responsible for the UTS central academic IT services, where he was accountable for strategic leadership and direction of academic computing at the University and for the delivery of IT services to academic staff, academic support staff and students. He has spent all his working life in organisations managing the provision of large-scale IT services to a diverse client base.
