Ian MacPhedran

Biography

Ian is a structural engineer. His research interests focus on numerical analyses, such as finite element analysis. However, he is also interested in structural stability (i.e. buckling) and structural design standards, including reliability analyses of design expressions.

He teaches structural steel design and structural stability in the Department of Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering, attempting to use the teaching technology available.

In his I.T. role, Ian provides strategic computing guidance for the College of Agriculture and Bioresources at the University of Saskatchewan.

He is a registered Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan, and has a PhD in structural engineering from the University of Alberta.
