Biography

Dr. JADE WINN is the Assistant Dean of Instruction, Assessment and Engagement in the Programs and Planning department at USC Libraries, Currently, Dr. Winn takes a broader scope of responsibilities in USC Libraries administration in her position while remaining the leader of the instruction, assessment and orientation programs.

Dr. Winn’s research includes information literacy, academic library technology, techno-information literacy, advanced quantitative research methods in social sciences, student learning outcomes, virtual pedagogies, web-based active instruction methods, outreach and virtual student services. Additional research interests include global citizenship as an outcome to higher education, higher education and technology, diversity issues in social science research, educational technology and technology’s impact on society. Additional research interests include global citizenship as an outcome to higher education, diversity issues in social science research and education technology.

Dr. Winn is co-PI on a multi-institutional longitudinal research project on information literacy and student success sponsered by the Greater Western Library Alliance. She worked extensively on the development of the online Master in Management in Library and Information Science (MMLIS) in USC’s Marshall School of Business. Additionally, Dr. Winn has taught research methods and inquiry courses in USC School of Social Work MSW program, Rossier School of Education EdD program, and currently teaches courses in the MMLIS program at Marshall School of Business at USC.

Dr. Winn earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University, A Master Degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadershio from the University of San Diego.
