Biography
James Varn is Director of Faculty Development at Mississippi Valley State University, where he developed The Center for Teaching and Learning. He coordinates workshops and seminars, administers tuition, research, and travel grants, and develops new initiatives, such as Writing Across the Curriculum and Learning Communities. He completed his PhD at the University of South Carolina, where he specialized in 20th American literature, especially the Modernist movement and is master's degree at the University of Georgia, where he specialized in 19th century British literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing.
