James Webb

Biography

Mr. Webb provides leadership, management, and oversight for the University’s academic and administrative information technology services and systems. Webb was recently named one of Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2012 and has served WTAMU since 2004. Prior to becoming the University CIO, Mr. Webb served as the IT Director of Systems Support Services, Deputy CIO, and the University Information Security Officer. He spent fourteen years working in healthcare, non-profit, and corporate settings. Mr. Webb earned a BBA in Computer Information Systems and a MBA from West Texas A&M University in 1995 and 2008, respectively. He is the current chairperson for the Texas A&M University System CIO Council. Mr. Webb is also a faculty member in the College of Business and teaches upper level coursework in Network and Data Communications for the CIS department. He holds active industry certification designations of ITIL Expert, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Emeritus, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
