Jim serves as the Associate Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Officer in the Center for Information Technology Services (CITS) at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Jim started his tenure at UMB in 1986, and over those nearly 25 years he has had the opportunity to work with individuals in the academic and administrative units of the University in his positions as systems programmer (1986-1993); manager of technical services (1993-2001); director of infrastructure services (2001-2005); and executive director of infrastructure services. He has managed key technical and central service functions including the Campus IT Help Desk, Software Licensing Office, Directory Services & Identity Management, Enterprise Messaging, System and Server Administration, and Computer Room Operations. Jim has a Bachelors of Science in Information Systems and a Master’s in Management from the University of Maryland University College.
