James Van Roekel

Biography

JAMES VAN ROEKEL; MLS, MA is the Director of Innovation and has over 25 years of professional Higher Education experience as a faculty member and administrator in Academic and Student Affairs. His research, which can be found in over 30 publications including three books, and teaching focus on the investigation of the utilization of free and off-the-shelf hardware and software towards the development of multimedia and digital applications instudent learning and web-based broadcasting. His grant writing has brought over $725,000.00 to engage faculty and students in current and emerging technologies. He is a member of EDUCAUSE, Infocomm International, and ACUI Region II Leadership Team. James is a part-time musician, audio engineer and sound designer, photographer, and videographer. Specialties: Grant writing, media design, web design, faculty development, student development, leadership, and teaching. James is a past recipient of the Sammy Award and the Vice President's Bearkat Spirit Award.  James is a member of Beta Phi Mu Honor Society.
