Biography
In November 2006 Jim Duncan became Director of Networking and Resource Sharing at the Colorado State Library, where he is responsible for the Colorado Virtual Library, AskColorado (24x7 virtual reference), SWIFT (ILL), Plinkit (Library web site hosting), GIS (Geographic Information Systems), the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection (on-line), and other core statewide services and collaborative projects.Previously, Jim served as Assistant Director for Technology Services at Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, The University of Iowa. In addition to directing the activities of the Information Commons for 10 years, he frequently represented the UI Libraries in academic technology initiatives on campus. He was a member of the universitys Academic Technology Advisory Council and was a past chair of the Libraries' Information Technology Advisory Committee. Beyond campus, he served as a member of the EDUCAUSE Evolving Technologies Committee (2003-2006). Jim was a 2002 Fellow of the Frye Leadership Institute.
