Biography
James Roberts is Director of IT for the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University.
Prior to CMU, he held a series of positions at Tufts University [2004-2009] as Director of Computing for the School of Engineering and the School of Arts & Sciences [as well as interim Director of Systems & Operations and Director of Networking & Telecommunications for the central IT organization [2007-2010].
Prior to Tufts, he served as Director Computing Facilities for the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University [1990-2004] and as a senior IT leader at the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) [2001-2004].
He has 20+ years of IT management experience working for universities and research institutions. He hold a BA from the University of Chicago, and a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
