James Stewart
Biography
Jimmy Stewart joined DSCU as the Technology Branch Chief, bringing over 30 years of experience in IT leadership, digital transformation, and cybersecurity resiliency.
Before joining DSCU, Jimmy served as the Enterprise Architect and Enterprise Applications Portfolio Manager at Covington & Burling LLP, a leading global law firm specializing in corporate law, litigation, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, healthcare/life sciences, and international security. In these roles, he was responsible for designing and overseeing the firm's comprehensive IT architecture, establishing technical standards, and developing a forward-looking technology roadmap.
Jimmy has a proven track record of leading engineering teams to design, implement, and support technology solutions on a global scale. He excels in managing the entire lifecycle of software solutions and facilitating project management for systems development and enhancement.
Jimmy began his career by enlisting in the US Army straight out of high school, where he spent nearly a decade developing technical solutions for the JAG Corps. He has also held significant roles such as IT Director at SENTEL Corporation—a firm specializing in systems engineering, software development, and cybersecurity—and CIO for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. His diverse experiences bring a unique perspective to DSCU.
Jimmy is a certified PROSCI Change Management Practitioner, certified in ITIL v.3, and is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in Leadership Communications at George Mason University.
