Biography
James Reese Weckler, Ph.D., is Cabrillo College’s Dean for Business, English and Language Arts. As Dean of the BELA Division, he provides administrative direction and leadership for the departments of Accounting & Finance, World Languages (ASL, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish), Bilingual/Bicultural Studies, Humanities, Business, Journalism, Reading, English, Real Estate and English as a Second Language. He reports to the Vice President of Instruction who, in turn, reports to the President/Superintendent. Before arriving at Cabrillo in July, 2005, Dr. Weckler was Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Languages and Cultures at Minnesota State University Moorhead, in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he provided academic and administrative coordination to the department as well as taught all levels of undergraduate and graduate classes in Spanish language and Latin American literature.
