Overcoming Social Engineering through Cultural Change
The most effective way to thwart social engineers is through ongoing training and creating a culture in the workplace that recognizes and embraces cybersecurity.
Jane LeClair
Biography
Dr. Jane A. LeClair is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the National Cybersecurity Institute (NCI) at Excelsior College in Washington, D.C., whose mission is to serve as an academic and research center dedicated to increasing the knowledge of the cybersecurity discipline. Dr. LeClair served as Dean of the School of Business and Technology prior to assuming her current position. Before joining Excelsior College, Dr. LeClair had careers in education and the energy industry. After earning her doctorate, she brought her teaching energies to Syracuse University and numerous other colleges, lecturing in their education and management programs. Paralleling her career in education, she simultaneously had a career in the nuclear industry, serving in various management positions with leading energy organizations and authoring numerous energy related works. Her work in the energy industry brought her to the attention of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with whom she continues to collaborate on an ongoing basis. Dr. LeClair has also been actively involved in a variety of professional organizations. She is an advocate for attracting and retaining more women in nuclear, cybersecurity, and other technology fields.EDUCAUSE Publications
