Jarrod Millman

Biography

Jarrod Millman was the director of computing for UC Berkeley's Neuroscience Institute, where he led the Computational Infrastructure for Research Laboratories (CIRL) group. CIRL provided design, security, and support for Berkeley's neurogenomics, neuroimaging, molecular imaging, and theoretical neuroscience centers. He was a member of Berkeley's Information Technology Architecture Committee (ITAC) as well as the Campus Information Security and Privacy Committee (CISPC). ITAC has stewardship of the campus enterprise architecture including information management, business process analysis, applications architecture, and technology infrastructure. CISPC provides oversight, budget recommendations, and project priorities for UC Berkeley's information security and privacy-related policies, procedures, and initiatives. He was also a member of the CalNet technical team, which provides technical guidance and steering to Berkeley’s identity management group. He taught numerous tutorials and presented at several neuroscience, networking, security, and database conferences. He received a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Cornell University and was a Red Hat Certified Engineer and Security Specialist.
