Biography

In my work, I have focused on Semantic Web development, digital library development, metadata and data modeling, web services and APIs, search engine optimization, and interface design. More recently, I have started to look at algorithmic literacy and machine UX - how bots and AI create particular types of user experiences and knowledge patterns. As a teacher, I look to craft teaching experiences that consider how technology has social impacts and how practical learning opportunities for implementing technology can be realized. Course topics include: the Web as platform, Web services and APIS, mobile design, data curation and database design, and algorithmic user experiences.
