Jason LaMar

Biography

Jason is Supervisor of Instructional Technology Innovations at Columbus State Community College in central Ohio, where he focuses on integrating multimedia content, learning activities, and classroom tools with emerging online and presentation technologies. He has more than 20 years of experience in higher education technology. Prior to working at CSCC, Jason spent a decade involved with web design/development and IT work at Ohio Wesleyan University and, before that, 3 years engaged with K-12 distance learning at Ball State University. He has had the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of organizational and technology partners, including The Smithsonian Institution, The Field Museum, Apple, TechSmith, Kaltura, Barracuda Networks, and Aruba Networks. Jason has presented at numerous regional and national conferences -- including Syllabus2003, Syllabus2004, and Campus Technology 2011 -- and has been published in Campus Technology, Satlink Magazine, and Distance Education Report. In 2014, he became an Apple Foundations Trainer, and in 2015, he was named an Apple Distinguished Educator. Jason holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ball State and a master's degree in information technology management from Colorado Tech.
