Jay Olson


Jay is a well rounded academic IT professional with responsibilities ranging from system administration to instructional support. His official title is Client Services Manager. Having been an integral part of a major transformation of IT services at UCSC, Jay has acquired a deep understanding of organizational management, the value of transparency, and of maintaining service levels through times of change and severe budget restrictions. Jay's role in the UCSC IT organization is a hybrid between leadership, management and hands on PA work, giving him an opportunity to truly appreciate and empathize with people at every level of the organization.
