Jeanne Samuel
Biography
Dr. Jeanne Samuel is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience spanning diverse educational environments including the US Navy, corporate settings, four-year institutions, community colleges, and technical colleges. Her distinguished career includes serving as the Dean of Distance Learning and Instructional Technology for many years, where she championed innovative approaches to education.
With a passion for pedagogical excellence, Dr. Samuel's research and professional interests focus on learner success, assessment for learning, and the application of game theory in educational contexts. Since discovering HyFlex learning models in 2014, she has integrated this adaptable framework as both a foundation and wrapper for much of her subsequent work.
Semi-retired, Dr. Samuel maintains an active interest in emerging technologies that enhance teaching and learning. Currently, she is exploring the integration of generative Artificial Intelligence within HyFlex environments, assessment strategies, and course design—focusing on both efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, she has recently expanded her expertise to include creative writing applications of these technologies.
As a dedicated lifelong learner, Dr. Samuel commits to expanding her knowledge and skill set annually, embracing new challenges and opportunities for growth. Her comprehensive background across multiple educational sectors, combined with her forward-thinking approach to instructional technology, positions her as a thought leader in contemporary educational practice.
