Biography

Jean-Pierre Berthet is Chief Digital Officer at Sciences Po's Institut for Skille & Innovation.

For 5 years, he was advisor to the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation  on pedagogy and digital technology. He is also co-founder of the Learning Lab Network, which brings together over a hundred innovative spaces within educational institutions. 

Between 2012 and 2018 he was Chief Digital Officer at Ecole Centrale de Lyon and Director of the LearningLab founded with EMLyon Business School. Between 2001 and 2012 he was Chief Information Officer and Associated Professor at Ecole Centrale de Lyon, after having worked for more than 15 years in distance learning and EdTech for vocational training.

He was member of the Expert Advisory Board for the Horizon reports for Higher Education until 2022.
