Jeff von Munkwitz-Smith

Prior to coming to Boston University in 2012 I was the University Registrar and Director of Summer Programs at the University of Connecticut since 1996. Previously, I held various positions in the Office of the Registrar at the University of Minnesota, beginning in 1974. My first job at Minnesota involved hand-writing transcripts. I have a Ph.D. in South Asian Languages from the University of Minnesota, specializing in Sanskrit. I'm currently the President of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). Previously I served as AACRAO Vice President for Information Technology, Director of the AACRAO Technology Conference, and Program Committee Chair for the 2005 Annual Meeting. I'm a regular presenter on topics relating to educational records privacy, student services, student retention and graduation, and implementation of administrative information technology at AACRAO, CUMREC, and other conferences.
