Biography
Jeff King, Ed.D., is Executive Director of the Center for Excellence in Transformative Teaching and Learning at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in Edmond, Oklahoma. He is a chief architect of UCO's Student Transformative Learning Record (STLR), which is UCO's operationalization of its mission to provide a transformative education to students. STLR is an evidence- and rubrics-based process in the curriculum and the co-curriculum that enables UCO to develop students' beyond-disciplinary skills and to expand their perspectives of their relationships to self, others, community, and environment. In his role with STLR at UCO, Jeff is point person for STLR adoption/adaptation at other colleges and universities, with that work involving all institutional types, whether in the U.S. or abroad. These institutions find STLR because of its association with retention & GPA increases, especially among at-promise student populations. Jeff's background includes faculty professional development for over 25 years in higher education. He enjoys making a nice pan of paella every now and then.
