Biography

Comfortable in the intersection of life and technology, Jennifer is a leader, technologist and enthusiastic team builder sharply focused on solutions that center the learner. 

As Executive Director of Governance with ASU Enterprise Technology, Jennifer leads the development of enterprise technology strategic priorities; the enterprise IT Community of Practice;  the body of IT Policy that sets the guide rails for the innovative technology work of the enterprise; privacy practices; data governance; is a champion of a Privacy for All approach to how ASU centers the learner and builds trust; supports enterprise regulatory alignment efforts, both domestic and international; IT audit and compliance functions; and advances initiatives and technology solutions across ASU. 

Previously, she served as the Chief Digital Officer with ASU’s Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions where she led the technology and marcom programs, implementing organizational improvements for effective intersectionality of these teams and alignment with enterprise technology strategy.  

Prior to ASU, Jennifer designed programs with the Arizona Department of Health Services where she launched the agency’s online community building and social technology program; championed an award-winning multi-channel presence; led a multi-disciplinary team; directed digital strategy and engagement; brand content creation; web design and development; video, photography and studio production; and GIS. 

Collaborating across Arizona State Government, Jennifer had the privilege of serving on numerous state-level collaborations for improvement to offerings for Arizonans, including the Governor’s Goal Council for Online Services developing Arizona Government Digital Strategy and digitizing citizen services; and led continuous quality improvement teams during Arizona State Government’s adoption of Lean practices.

Jennifer’s publications include Midwives and Marijuana: How the Arizona Department of Health Services Uses Social Media to Build Online Community, appearing in Applying Social Media Technologies in Healthcare Environments, and her numerous speaking engagements include Dreamforce, On the Pulse: Improving Access to Public Sector Health, and EDUCAUSE, Re-envisioning Privacy and Data Governance at ASU. 

Passionate about the intersection of life and technology, Jennifer creates solutions that make experiences better, and thrives on team building. She has a proven track record cultivating high-performing, high-trust, agile, happy teams who are sharply focused on solutions that center the customer. 

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Technology from Arizona State University. During her time as an Illini, Jennifer was a three-season, four-year letter winner in Cross Country, and Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field; a member of two Big Ten Championship teams; and a four-year recipient of the George Huff Award for academic and athletic excellence. 

Keenly focused on her community, Jennifer’s local footprint includes numerous mentoring engagements—ASU’s Commission of the Status of Women, ASU Enterprise Technology Emerging Leaders Program, Girls Who Code—volunteering as an assistant track & field coach, and involvement in ASU Enterprise Technology’s culture, DEIB and Empower community.
