Biography

Jen Patterson is an Instructional Technology Specialist in the Division of IT at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) and an Art History Instructor at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA).  At UMD, Jen leads the design, development, and delivery of new and existing services and manages many of UMD's existing learning technologies and third-party tools integrated with the Canvas learning management system.  For NOVA, Jen practices culturally responsive teaching, helping the students develop a strong grounding in the formal study of art and continuously improving the fully online course to make it more accessible.  Jen is pursuing a PhD from UMD's College of Education in the Technology specialization of the Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership program.
