Biography

An enthusiastic, engaged, and empathetic Web Technologies instructor at the top ranked community college in North Carolina, Wake Tech Community College.

I have a passion for encouraging adult learners to pursue educational goals. It wasn’t long ago I was a community college student myself.  I understand the unique challenges community college students face. It is my sincere desire to help students overcome barriers and help them develop real-world skills, preparing them for the workforce.

Before my transition to full-time faculty, I worked for the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2019-2022 as the Assistant Director of Technology in the Office of Housing and Residence Life. In this role, I led a small team, managed a budget, and was responsible for the strategy and implementation of technology and information systems utilized in the department.

During this time, I also served as an adjunct instructor within the North Carolina Community College system developing courses and teaching online asynchronous curriculum courses ranging from digital marketing to web development.

Prior to UNCW, I was the Founder and CEO at Bluespin Webspin Consulting and the Trade Relations Manager at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. During my tenure at Bluespin Web Consulting, I cultivated relationships with local small businesses, offering boutique full-service marketing services from web design to digital marketing.

I am a two-time graduate of University of the Cumberlands (B.S. and M.S.), where I majored in Information Technology. Go Patriots! I am also an alumna of Guilford Technical Community College, where I earned my A.A.S. in Information Technology and Certificates in Web Development and Internet Marketing. Go Titans! When I’m not keeping busy by helping students teach their full potential, you can find me at the beach.
