Biography

I have over twenty years of leadership experience in higher education; twelve of which are related to technology implementation and support in higher education. I have consulted and collaborated with faculty who develop and use technology-based instructional tools in their teaching and research. I’ve led large-scale implementation of course management systems, and am an effective project manager. I have served as a consultant to the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, Naval Sea Systems Command-Program Executive Office Expeditionary Warfare, United States Army Military District of Washington, and the Virginia Tech Division of Continuing Education in the areas of instructional technology, teaching and learning strategies, and strategic planning. I have also been directly responsible for leading Student Affairs units including residence life, judicial affairs and mediation services, disability services, and new student orientation. Additionally, I served as Interim Associate Chief Information Officer at UTK for nearly sixteen months.
