Jill Sexton is Head of Information Technology at North Carolina State University Libraries, where she manages four units: Discovery Systems and Applications; Academic Technology; Technology Services; and Enterprise Operations. Information Technology guides the design, architecture, and development of library applications and infrastructure, provides leadership in coordinating and defining technology requirements for library-wide projects and initiatives, and ensures effective, sustainable operation of information systems and infrastructure. Jill was previously Head of Digital Research Services at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Libraries, where she provided vision and leadership for the Library's Research Hub initiative by coordinating Library staff, services, and programming supporting digitally-reliant information services, engaging and collaborating with UNC faculty and students, and by developing partnerships with strategic service providers. Prior to this Jill was Head of Digital Repository Services at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Libraries. She managed technical development of the Carolina Digital Repository, coordinated outreach activities for the repository, and consulted with donors regarding their data management and curation needs. She has presented locally, regionally, and nationally on technology-reliant service development, digital preservation, digital repository development, storage infrastructures, and community-source software development.
