Jim Bujaki

Biography

Jim Bujaki is the Vice President for Information Technology - Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Central Michigan University.

Prior to this role, he was the Executive Director of Infrastructure Services & Operations at the University of Michigan in charge of a wide array of the technical infrastructure services including: service management, cloud/virtualized services, event and availability management, communication systems(voice/video/network) and data center operations, server/​storage/​database management, application and web infrastructure operations.

Jim joined the University of Michigan in 2001 as the Assistant Director of Systems and Planning for administrative information services. For eight years he served in this role and was responsible for the development, maintenance and production support efforts for major components of the administrative technical environment.

In 2009, he also served as the Team Lead of the data center/server room group supporting the agenda of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative @ U-M. Due to the group's implementation of campus-wide green IT best practices which include data center consolidation, server virtualization and data center assessments, the university is benefiting from significant and ongoing energy savings and cost reductions.

He initially started his career with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) in 1993 as an Analyst, progressing to the position of Operations and Technical Infrastructure Manager. His primary area of focus involved assisting clients on their PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System and Financial Management System implementations. 

Jim holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Michigan State University.
