Joan is Associate Executive Director Emerita of the Coalition for Networked Information, a joint program of EDUCAUSE and the Association of Research Libraries. She has worked on issues related to collaboration among information professionals since she joined CNI in 1990. Joan has a Ph.D. in higher education from University of Maryland. She has written on a variety of topics including learning spaces, digital scholarship centers, digital libraries, and assessment.

In 2019, EDUCAUSE brings librarians’ perspectives into the mix of the annual Top 10 IT Issues list, adding their views on three of the issues.
IT and library professionals need to engage as key partners to achieve coordinated, visible, and sustained support for digital humanities at an institutional level.
