Service Design and Transition Toolkit
This toolkit has been created to help organizations both design and transition successful services.
Joe leads the EDUCAUSE IT business function, which provides IT services to the association staff and works with the business units on IT solutions that support and provide value to the membership at large.
Joe has a career of work in higher education technology settings. His technology career began supporting diabetic eye research while he was an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From there, he moved into desktop systems administration at the UW-Madison Libraries. He earned his MS in Library and Information Science from the Syracuse University iSchool, and worked as a Fellow and Digital Projects Librarian at the acclaimed North Carolina State University Libraries, a Digital Humanities Researcher at UNC-Chapel Hill's Research Computing Center.
Since relocating to Colorado, Joe founded and operated the Center for Statistics and Visualization at the University of Denver, then became the Head of Informational and Educational Technology Services at Auraria Library, a multi-campus library that serves students at Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University, and University of Colorado-Denver.
He joined EDUCAUSE in 2019 in an infrastructure and operations role and became CIO in 2022.

The NCSU Libraries’ Course Views project, along with a locally developed widget web service, improves course-based access to library collections and services by dynamically generating library course pages for all 6000+ courses at NCSU.
