John Palesis

Biography

Currently employed at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) as an Information Technology Coordinator. I have also taught classes in both Computer Science and Information Systems at VCU, including Social Network Analysis, Advanced Computer Algorithms, and eBusiness Technologies. Prior to joining VCU, I worked in the industry, where I developed many innovative IT-based business solutions in areas including eLearning, collaboration & knowledge management, data-mining & modeling, text-mining, artificial neural networks, and expert systems. I also worked for 7 years as an Assistant Professor at Randolph-Macon College, where I taught both French Language and Literature and Computer Science. I have a master’s degree in computer science, a doctorate in romance languages & literatures, and a bachelor’s in mathematics and French. In addition to English, I speak Greek, French, and Spanish.
