John Muthyala

Biography

John Muthyala is Professor of English at the University of Southern Maine.

He leads the Digital Humanities Initiative, which uses digital tools creatively to enhance research and scholarship at the intersection of Information Technology and the arts/humanties.

He is currently directing two grant-funded projects: one involves generating the digital footprint of the university and designing an appropriate information ecology, and the other focusses on 21st century literacies and their impact on the design and delivery of the general education curriculum.

John's teaching and research areas are digital studies, globalization, and the literatures and cultures of the Americas. He has published on the rise of global surveillance in the era of drone warfare, and the struggle for digital ethics.
