Biography
John Prette is a business and technology leader with 30 years of experience in governance, portfolio management, project management, business analysis, communications, process development, and software development. He is currently serves Director of Information Technology for the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association. Prior to that, he was Interim Director and Senior Portfolio and Project Manager for the Portfolio and Project Management Office at George Mason University, providing support and leadership both within ITS and across the University.
Mr. Prette's experience includes the development and implementation of multiple IT business processes including Project Management, Project Portfolio Management, and IT Governance. Project successes include the leadership of complex, university-wide project implementations such as Office 365, IT Service Management (ITSM), Two-Factor Authentication, and Web Content Management, and Blackboard.
Mr. Prette holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Notre Dame. He obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2004, is a 2011 alumnus of the EDUCAUSE Leadership Institute, and a 2015 alumnus of George Mason’s Leadership Legacy Program. He served as Co-Chair of the EDCAUSE Project Management Community Group from 2018 - 2021.
