John Rome ([email protected]) is Deputy CIO and 20+ year employee of Arizona State University(ASU). He started his career at ASU in the Information Technology Department and has worked under or closely with a variety of departments including: Institutional Research, the President's Office, Data Administration, Budget Department, ASU Online/EdPlus and the Provost Office. John is an experienced IT leader, educator, consultant, technologist and innovator with a demonstrated history of working in higher education and IT industries. He has strong financial, budgetary, human capital, analytic and public speaking skills. Areas of expertise include higher education, information technology and strategy, analytics/business intelligence, cloud, governance, organization development, program management, big data and voice-enabled interfaces. John collaborates well with University leaders and stakeholders and can motivate and coordinate large and complex teams with strategic and successful outcomes. His special interests include student mentoring and success. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clarke University (Iowa) and a MBA from Arizona State University.
