Biography

John J. Sherlock

Dr. Sherlock is a tenured full professor of human resources at Western Carolina University. He has been on the faculty there since 2002 and teaches a variety of graduate courses in the M.S. degree program in Human Resources (MSHR).   He previously taught at University of Maryland and George Washington University. He earned his doctorate in Human Resource Development (Ed.D.) from George Washington University, MBA from University of Maryland, and B.S. in Public Administration from James Madison University.  His scholarship includes dozens of publications and conference presentations across multiple topic areas (e.g., AI, Leadership, Ethics, etc.), with a common theme of helping people realize their full potential.  Prior to academic life, he worked in the wireless communications industry for 20 years in various management capacities, overseeing functions including business development, operations, and human resources.
