Jon Rood
Biography
Jonathan Rood is a Information Technology Special Consultant to San Francisco State University. Jonathan was the CIO and Associate Vice President, Division of Information Technology, San Francisco State University, from 2000 to November 2010 and was responsible for the management of information technology for San Francisco State University. This included: student systems, administrative and business systems (HR, Finance, etc.), data center and operations, networking, telecommunications, web development, Help Desk, consulting and training. These units work in concert to facilitate the IT vision to provision the faculty, students, staff and university community with the most effective technology systems for the present and the future. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Information Officer and IT Chief Operating Officer for the University of Maryland (College Park). He has an undergraduate degree from Indiana University and a Master's Degree from the University of Maryland. He is active in numerous outside professional organizations and has served as adjunct faculty member in Information Systems Management and Computer Applications. With years of hands on experience in the design, development, acquisition, and implementation of numerous systems and networks, Jon has developed training programs, served as speaker, consultant and conducted workshops on a wide variety of technology related topics.EDUCAUSE Presentations
