Biography
Dr. Judith W. Eaton has been president of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) since August 1997.
Before joining CHEA, Dr. Eaton was chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. She has served as president of the Council for Aid to Education, vice president of the American Council on Education, president of the Community College of Philadelphia, and president of the Community College of Southern Nevada.
CHEA is the national coordinating organization for regional, specialized and national accreditation with more than 3,200 member colleges and universities and 56 participating accreditors.
CHEA is the primary national voice on voluntary accreditation to the U.S. Congress and U.S. Department of Education. It "recognizes" or affirms the quality of its participating accrediting organizations. CHEA provides national leadership in articulating key issues and challenges in quality review through voluntary accreditation.
