Julia Allworth

Biography

Julia Allworth is a thought leader and innovator with expertise in human-centered design thinking and co-creation in communities with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

Julia is the co-author of a book entitled Design Thinking in Student Affairs: A Primer in collaboration with Lesley D’Souza and Gavin Henning.

Julia leads the Innovation Hub at the University of Toronto, where students are hired to learn design thinking and work on projects that support creating better campus experiences.

Julia is also a TEDx speaker who inspired audiences with her talk entitled Design Yourself to Change the World.

Julia holds an MBA in Global Leadership and a BA in Psychology and has presented her work at various conferences across North America and has trained hundreds of people in design thinking from across all sectors.

Julia is a single mom to neurodiverse twins and is a non-traditional learner herself. She is passionate about equity and social justice for equity-deserving populations, and an advocate for accessibility and inclusive, human-centered design.
