Julie Johnson

Biography

Julie Johnson holds an M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a Certificate in Instructional Design from the Online Learning Consortium.

In 2020, Julie Johnson and the "Teaching Remotely" team received the Barbara Mulch Award for Excellence in Academic Service by the Chapman University Faculty Senate. From 2020-2021 she received the Office of the President Outstanding Service Award 6 times.

Before coming to Chapman, Julie performed quality assurance in online testing, taught writing and literature for a local private school, and managed social media and communication for the school in which she taught. She served her local community for over a decade as a volunteer breastfeeding peer advisor and group leader. 

Her Chapman experience includes supporting and training faculty on their use of instructional technology, both Blackboard and Canvas,  the One-Button Studio (Learning Glass), and coordinating the university-wide management of course evaluations utilizing Class Climate. 

Julie also serves as a remote Scoring Leader for Educational Testing Services where she supervises a team of raters scoring for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment in English-language arts.
