Biography
Dr Julie Lindsay is Senior Consultant (Technology Innovation) at the University of Southern Queensland, where she leads transformative work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and education. As leader of the AI Pedagogy Project at UniSQ, Julie guides a cross-institutional initiative reimagining teaching and learning through AI integration. This groundbreaking project explores how AI can support learning and teaching at different levels for various purposes. She encourages creative practices that position educators and students to harness AI's potential while maintaining pedagogical integrity. Julie also leads the Technology and Innovation Network for the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE), a global community advancing educational innovation through strategic technology integration. Through this role, she fosters international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cutting-edge research that shapes the future of digital learning worldwide. In 2026 her Fellowship at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, deepened her research on AI integration as a complementary learning partner, exploring Human-AI-World ecosystems and developing pedagogical approaches that enhance rather than replace human connection and collaboration in learning. Julie's vision centers on leveraging AI thoughtfully to create more connected, dynamic, and human-centered learning experiences for an increasingly complex world.
