Biography
From 1999 to 2010 I taught introductory, lab-based environmental science courses at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During that time I was a Blackboard "power-user", incorporating many of the interactive tools available to engage my students outside of the classroom. In 2006 I went through the Alternate Delivery Program and started teaching Science 100 (an inquiry based, introductory science class for non-majors) in hybrid format in both Winter and Summer sessions. I transitioned into my role as Director of Instructional Technology during the spring 2010 semester. As such I am responsible for UMBC'S implementation of Blackboard, managing and promoting the use of "clickers" on campus, and providing support to faculty as they move through the ADP process.EDUCAUSE Presentations
