Katie Walsh

Biography

Katie Walsh has 18 years of instructional design experience that spans an array of industries and settings, including software development, US defense, healthcare, retail, and higher education. As the Manager for Instructional Technology at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), she heads the Instructional Technology team in support of faculty using technology inside and outside of the classroom. In just two years, Katie has expanded this team’s size and role, engaging faculty from all departments across campus. This broadened scope of services includes training and support on a variety of technologies, instructional design consultation for faculty transitioning from traditional instruction to hybrid and online formats, and a recently-established Student Technology Assistance Resource (STAR) program which employs technology-savvy students to assist faculty in the use of technology. Katie’s educational background includes a B.A. in Developmental Psychology, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and an M.A. in Educational Technology.
