Biography

Dr. Kathy Emerson is the Director of Research at Equity Accelerator (EA), leading EA's research strategy and overseeing project teams in the design, development, and implementation of research projects and evidence-based interventions and tools. She maintains the organization’s commitment to rigorous and collaborative research, while also ensuring that EA’s work remain aligned with EA’s mission and values and the needs of external partners. Kathy earned her B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley, M.A. in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Indiana University, where her work focused on exploring how cues in our learning and working environments shape our motivation, engagement, and success.
