Kathe Lehman-Meyer

Biography

Kathe Lehman-Meyer is currently the Director of the Academic Media Center (AMC) on the campus of St. Mary’s University, a small Catholic Marianist Unviersity in San Antonio, Texas. The AMC is an area for students in all majors to get media experience to enhance their academic and professional success. Under her direction with a small staff, and student assistants her group offers workshops to more than 1,500 faculty, staff and students annually. Topics range from DVCamera, Public Address System, Data Projector Certification to E-Portfolio with the Elevator Pitch for Presentation. She is adjunct faculty within the English Communication Arts and Speech Departments. She teaches a variety of classes from video production to organizational communication. Kathe really enjoys is sharing her 25 plus years of marketing and corporate communications experience with students, and earned a regional Emmy Award with her students for work with the local Univision Television Station. She has also been selected by the International Radio and Television Society to attend the Faculty Institute, and presents at the Broadcast Educators Conference. She is also a regular campus motivational speaker focusing on the integration of faith, technology and mission. Her last position prior to joining St. Mary's University was VP of Marketing for Nationwide Retirement Solutions where she ran the Education Company helping two million public employees throughout the U.S., plan for their retirement. Prior to that role, she was Creative Services Director for Nationwide Insurance and Financial Services where she implemented a new branding strategy including the new logo, used today. During her time at Nationwide her internal branding work earned her two National Awards: Gold Quill (Public Relations Society of America) and Silver Anvil (International Association of Business Communicators). She also is a media consultant. Kathe is involved in many community organizations and has been a member of the Board of Directors for Elder Choices, and CTSA-Catholic Television. She is a Marianist Educational Associate and was honored with the highest University honor, the Marianist Heritage Award. She is involved in University Ministry. She has also been the moderator for the Kappa Theta Chi social fraternity. Kathe and her husband Larry will have been married for more than 30 years. He is also in a similar business, which makes for interesting talk at home. They have two children, Alice (29) and Andrew (25).
