Kathleen Yancey

Biography

Kathleen Blake Yancey is R. Roy Pearce Professor of English at Clemson University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate students. She also directs the Roy and Marnie Pearce Center for Professional Communication, a center whose primary mission is to support Clemson's communication across the curriculum program. Author, editor or co-editor of six books--including Situating Portfolios: Four Perspectives and Electronic Portfolios: Emerging Practices in Student, Faculty, and Institutional Learning, she is directing Clemson's Digital Portfolio Project, a multi-year effort to help develop differentiated portfolio models for Clemson's five colleges. Unique to this project is a research strand focused on the learning that students say they have acquired through creating portfolios, as well as the development of visual mapping as one means of documenting learning.
