Keith Bailey

Biography

Dr. Keith Bailey is the Assistant Dean for Online Learning and Education Technology for the College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State University. He also serves as the Director of the College’s e-Learning Institute. Dr. Bailey’s primary responsibility is to lead the daily activities for the College’s technology-based learning initiatives. This includes overseeing the design and delivery of the College's online learning portfolio consisting of close to forty online and blended courses and two online programs, crosses six academic disciplines, and attracting more than 12,000 enrollments annually. In addition, Dr. Bailey gives particular attention to investigating how instructional technology innovations can be used to support the Institute’s learning design philosophy, while also providing a sustainable, reliable, reusable, and scalable online learning environment for the College. Recent innovations include the conceptualization and implementation of three open source applications: ELMS, the OpenStudio, and the ELIMedia Server, two of which have received international Campus Technology Innovators awards.
