Ken Ries currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the University of Wisconsin River Falls and Stout. His role oversees the development, implementation, and deployment of information security strategies and activities at both campuses to ensure a safe and secure computing environment. He holds a B.S. in Technical Education, and an M.A. in Leadership. He also has several technology, leadership, and cyber security certificates. Ken most recently was employed as the CIO/CISO at Midwest Higher Education Consortium (MHEC). Before that, he was the CIO and Director of Information Security at Pine Technical and Community College, a member of the Minnesota State system. Ken is a frequent presenter and has served on several national, regional and state committees and workgroups addressing information security, privacy, and technology issues.
