Kevin Reeve is the Director of Teaching and Learning Technologies at Utah State University. He leads a team who's mission it is to innovate, and to find appropriate technologies for use in teaching and learning. This includes online, interactive broadcast, and in the classrooms. Kevin was responsible for bringing the LMS, streaming media, closed captioning and many other systems to campus back in the 1990's. He was instrumental in the development and operation of an award winning Faculty Assistance Center for Teaching, and is known for helping faculty integrate technology into their teaching. His own online course was recognized as an exemplary course in 2002. He was a pioneer in the implementation of streaming video in online courses. He has been teaching online since 2001, and has been to more than 20 colleges and universities providing training and consulting services.
Kevin had a 6 year stint working for the Information Technology Department at USU, where he was a customer advocate, and also was responsible for the implementation of the student portal and the design and vision for the USU mobile app. He was responsible for building a relationship with student leaders, and to involve students in the IT process.
Kevin is a member of the EDUCAUSE IT Communicators (ITCOMM), and the IT Architects in Academia (ITANA). He has presented on a wide range of topics at EDUCAUSE.
He is the co-founder and a mentor of successful STEM Maker club for youth ages 11 - 15 with a focus on "Building the Future," around programming, robotics, 3D design and Printing, electronics, and the arduino micro-controller. He recently received a grant of just under 1 million dollars to expand this program as a model for the state.
He holds an Amateur Extra Class license with the callsign of N7RXE.
